Glossary
Plain-language definitions for flow metrics and labels you see in Flow Analyzer — written for Scrum Masters, tribe leads, and delivery managers.
Each finding cites a rule id such as WD-01. Browse the full rule reference for antipattern definitions and coaching playbooks.
- Dwell (dwell time)
- The time a work item spends in a specific workflow stage or status — for example how long it sits in Testing or Code review. Flow Analyzer measures dwell from status history in your workspace snapshot (changelog replay), not from how old the item looks on the board today.
- Where you see it: Dashboard Flow focus items, issue detail panel, Initiative PM stage timing and timing ladder, Value stream map grid cells, and WIP finish lists.
- Cycle time (CT)
- Elapsed time from when work first enters an active workflow stage until the item is done. CT answers how long delivery work took once the team started executing.
- Where you see it: Flow focus table, issue detail measures, and delivery health summaries.
- Lead time (LT)
- Elapsed time from item creation until completion. LT includes waiting before work starts, not only active execution.
- Where you see it: Flow focus table, issue detail measures, and timing ladder P50 summaries.
- WIP (work in progress)
- Items that are started but not finished — typically statuses mapped as active or in-flow in your workspace configuration.
- Where you see it: Value stream map cells, CFD views, and WIP finish coaching lists.
- Dominant stage
- The workflow stage where a single item accumulated the most dwell time. On Flow focus, this highlights where that item is most stuck.
- Where you see it: Flow focus items table (Dominant stage column) and issue detail context lines.
- Flow quality index
- A 0–100 score for one work item that combines broken rule signals and workflow status risk. Lower scores mean more rule findings or blocked-style statuses — prioritize coaching on those items. In the HTML report hierarchy table, the Flow quality column uses this same score; Problem rank is the worst-first order of that score among rows with delivery problems.
- Where you see it: Issue detail panel (Index kvality toku in Slovak) and the Hierarchy table in the HTML results report (including export preview).
- Problem rank
- A 1-based order (#1 = worst) of Flow quality index among hierarchy rows that have delivery problems (findings, blockers, flags, links, high risk, or blocked status). The 0–100 Flow quality index on the same row is the same score as issue detail — they are one scoring family, not two unrelated numbers. Extra chips such as flags still mark a row as a problem; they do not change the 0–100 score.
- Where you see it: Hierarchy table in the HTML results report (Problem rank and Flow quality columns) and export preview.
- Finding
- A rule-based signal that something in your delivery data deserves attention — for example excessive dwell, scope drift, or estimation gaps. Each finding links to evidence and optional coaching playbooks.
- Where you see it: Findings list, Brief risks, Dashboard insights, and issue detail findings section.
